For Burzmali.... sorry for my english... I don't like to make controversy... I want to give to the people of the best forum for drummer some material that I have...(circa 4700cds original) so I don't make comparison with Weckl... he is another great drummer BUT He is NOT Vinnie.. it's different ... very different... Weckl is a good drummer... Vinnie is a Musician and a drummer... ( why vinnie can Play ALL kind of music?)

Hmmm, I didn't really try cause any controversy either, I simlpy stated that as far as the music goes (melody and so forth) this tune didn't do much for me...
Also, as far as the weckl comment goes, might it not be the case that it's the other way around (ie weckl imitating Vinnie)
and I definitely stand by that comment since weckl has those 32nd note hihat licks in his arsenal...
How are you guys able to get these links to work?
When I go to thr URL & click on "trk # 10," it tries to save as an html document entitled "log on"...& I can't open it at all, let alone with the new [contemporary version of] Real Player...Thanks for the effort anyway, Sergino [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] ...maybe http://www.yousendit.com/ would be a better option...;c)
Not that I want to dive into the silly "VC vs DW" controversy yet again [as I stated my case years ago when i 1st signed on here], but [yeah, right?]...
Vinnie & Dave are two of the most astonishingly great players / "bar-raisers" alive on the instrument evar...& each's approach is SO unique & stylistically individual...
I would have to say that both are two of my absolute faves [in the Top 2 [img]wink.gif[/img] ]...royal majestic purple &, uh, dark cherry-wine...whatever, you get my point...
I agree with cjbdrm about Dave...also:<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Altho both have taken their fave peers to a whole other higher & unique level, & altho VC is prob my all-time ultimate [but practically neck-&-neck w DW], I would have to say that I hear a little bit more Tony in VC than I hear Gadd in DW... Weckl sounds to me to be, well, like no one else but Weckl, if you know what I mean...when I first started listening to him, I heard the Gaddness...but then, as time goes on, you can hear that he is uniquely identifiable in phrasing & feel to the click than any other drummer out there...whereas I can here Tony's approach a little bit more in Vinnie...but all this is okay, too [img]wink.gif[/img]
We had this type of scenario 2/half yrs ago when I read the mistake in the CD liner notes to Eric Marienthal's "Crossroads" & it says that TLC played on the 1st track, "Sun Was in My Eyes"...well, it was found to be a typo & it's UNMISTAKEABLY Weckl for sure...no one sounds like that...No one sounds like either of them, really...Novak can have phrasing similarities to VC, but is still his own gun AW...
